Ligurian cuisine and Sardinian tradition
Two places on opposite sides of the same sea: Liguria and Sardinia have never felt so close! At Ristorante La Madia in Santa Margherita Ligure, every dish brings together the traditional cuisine of these two regions, masterfully prepared and lovingly presented. Our philosophy is to always use high-quality ingredients that are fresh and in season, guaranteeing an authentic and unforgettable dining experience.
In our traditional trattoria, you can find Sardinian fregola alongside Ligurian trenette and trofie al pesto pasta dishes. Whether you opt for fresh pasta or dried pasta made from ancient grains, you can pair it with walnut sauce or bottarga made from fish roe, as well as seafood, tuna, anchovies cooked in a variety of ways, rabbit and pork. Not to mention plenty of other Ligurian and Sardinian specialities.

Our menu is rich and varied, with lots of dishes built around freshly caught fish. But that’s not all: La Madia serves both seafood and meat, and our aim every day is to bring to the table a blend of aromas and flavours that tell the story of the two distinct faces – land and sea – of the regions we love so much.

Ristorante La Madia in Santa Margherita Ligure was certified by the Italian Coeliac Association in 2021 and offers a wide range of delicious dishes that can be adapted to suit the needs of coeliacs.
In fact, you can enjoy a gluten-free version of any item on the menu, even the fried fish!
