Traditional Ligurian and Sardinian restaurant
We wanted to create somewhere that wasn’t like the “classic” restaurant by the sea in Santa Margherita Ligure: a quiet spot just a few minutes from both the town centre and the promenade where you can enjoy authentic home cooking. Traditional dishes served in a warm, homely environment with the spirit of a typical trattoria, where hospitality and simplicity are the order of the day.
The result was Ristorante La Madia, a haven for those in search of the fresh, genuine flavours of regional cuisine. You can eat in our elegant indoor dining rooms or, when the weather permits, on our large terrace with lots of outdoor tables overlooking the romantic church of San Siro. Enjoy the many creations of our chef Stefano: every day, with every dish, he strives for the perfect balance between the cuisines he knows best: Ligurian and Sardinian.

Among our classic Ligurian dishes, we couldn’t forget trofie pasta with pesto, following the traditional recipe with potatoes and green beans, pansoti pasta with walnut sauce, plenty of fresh pasta all handmade by our Angelina, the fresh flavours of local seafood, and focaccia straight out of the oven.

We celebrate Sardinia with some of its oldest and tastiest creations, such as fregola pasta and fish soup, as well as the most distinctive local ingredients, including bottarga (fish roe), porceddu (suckling pig) and cheeses. Our many recipes marry the island’s dual heritage of farming and fishing with delicious seafood and meat specialities
